Position Details
Alpena Public Schools is accepting applications for a CTE Health Occupations Teacher for the school year.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 4000 hours (2 years full-time) documented recent and relevant experience in an occupation related to areas of instruction and eligible for Michigan certification. BA degree in Education or eligible for annual authorization.**Annual Authorization Eligibility Requirements:
Employed in a relevant occupational position equal to 4000 hours in the last five years. Must be willing to return to school and earn a teaching license and a bachelor's degree within the next ten years. Preferred but not required: Certified Nursing Assistant Train-the-Trainer eligible (minimum one year in a long-term care facility).PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience related to long-term care. Experience working with students. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to parents, students, staff, and administration in a timely manner. Comfortable using technology. Adaptable, flexible, positive attitude, self-starter, and ability to constantly improve.
