Senior Buyer Position at a Leading Company in Kent, WA

Description:

  • 5 years of experience in supply chain and procurement
  • In-office role with no remote options

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management
  • Identify manufacturing needs, select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and arrange delivery
  • Prepare statements of work, develop potential bidders lists, and conduct supplier site visits
  • Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate terms and conditions of purchase
  • Implement corrective actions for supplier failures and settle claims with suppliers
  • Monitor supplier compliance with procurement requirements and prepare reports and analyses
  • Apply continuous improvement techniques and develop improvement initiatives with key suppliers
  • Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and associations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience
  • Certificate in Purchasing Management (CPM) or APICS desired
  • Thorough knowledge of purchasing and negotiating methods, industry practices, and legal requirements
  • Proficiency in standard business applications and purchasing systems
  • Ability to solve complex problems, negotiate effectively, and communicate efficiently
  • Demonstrate team competencies and contribute to self-development
