About the Indiana State Board of Accounts (SBOA):

The Indiana State Board of Accounts is dedicated to upholding integrity and financial accountability in state and local government for the citizens of Indiana.

For over a century, the Board of Accounts has been instrumental in holding government officials responsible for financial reporting and decision-making related to taxpayer dollars.

Currently hiring for various locations, including Jennings, Dearborn, Jefferson, and Switzerland Counties.

Job Details:
  • Design and perform audit procedures for government units.
  • Serve as a lead auditor, overseeing and coordinating audit team activities.
  • Prepare detailed reports on financial position and compliance.
  • Conduct audits of federal funds received by governmental units.
  • Research statutes and local ordinances for audit preparations.
  • Ensure elected and appointed officials adhere to proper accounting practices.
  • Provide guidance to officials on statutory requirements and management practices.
  • Communicate audit findings effectively to stakeholders.
  • Offer supervisory support and guidance to agency staff.

Job responsibilities may evolve over time.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Five years of experience in Accounting or related areas.
  • Proficiency in governmental accounting and auditing standards.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adapt audit procedures.
