The purpose of Environmental Services at Corewell Healthcare is to provide patients and their families with a clean and safe environment. An Environmental Attendant, or housekeeper, performs basic cleaning tasks while interacting with patients, visitors, and Hospital staff. Here is a detailed overview of the responsibilities:
- Comfortably interact with patients, families, and visitors, presenting a warm smile and friendly demeanor to make everyone feel welcomed and cared for.
- Clean patient rooms daily, sanitizing all surfaces, washing walls and windows, removing trash and linen, and completely cleaning and sanitizing restrooms.
- Clean ancillary areas like nurses' stations, med rooms, pantries, utility and storage rooms, waiting and break rooms, offices, and other specified areas.
- Assigned to specialty areas such as OR Suites, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, Pediatric Units, and more.
- Perform tasks including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, stocking supplies, and removing trash.
Environmental Attendants must use appropriate chemicals and follow guidelines for tasks. They will receive proper training and tools for their duties. Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
