Associate Scientist - Pharmacology

Summary

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute in vivo studies with small molecule or antibodybased therapeutics in disease models of immunooncology and inflammation. Activities include cell inoculation, dosing, monitoring of disease progression, sample collection for ex vivo assays and maintaining study documentation.
  • Perform PK, PK/PD as well as efficacy studies in oncology and inflammation models.
  • Ability to research and establish new animal models, troubleshooting challenges of early development.
  • Perform xenograft, syngeneic and orthotopic tumor studies to test efficacy, pharmacology, and mechanism of action of anticancer therapeutics.
  • Sample processing, homogenization, and generation of singlecell suspensions for ex vivo analysis including flow cytometry, blood and plasma cytokine measurements, RT-PCR, Western blotting and ELISAs
  • Partner with project team members to plan, coordinate, and monitor the timely execution and completion of various research projects.
  • Oversees the maintenance of accurate, comprehensible, and current laboratory notebooks.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in a variety of rodent models, including those relevant to both oncology and inflammation
  • At least 57 years of handson experience designing and running in vivo models.
  • Expertise in handling and dosing mice, including intravenous, intraperitoneal, and oral gavage administration.
  • Proficient in blood collection (cardiac, RO, Submandibular) and tissue collection/necropsy
  • Handson experience with various in vitro laboratory techniques, including multicolor flow cytometry, Western blot, qRTPCR, ELISA, and immunohistochemistry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with data capturing and analysis software (i.e. electronic notebook, StudyLog, PRISM, Excel).
  • Ability to focus and deliver on timesensitive objectives
  • Comfort with rapidly shifting goals as well as organizational changes and evolution of projects.
