Under immediate supervision of the Facilities & Security Manager the Warehouse Coordinator will be in charge of sustaining positive and mutually rewarding relations between PPNCS and year-round BookWorks and Book Sale volunteers by acting as liaison between PPNCS and volunteers; responsible for daily operations at BookWorks building, oversee the logistics of BookWorks and the fall and spring Book Sale logistics as needed. *BookWorks is the name of the warehouse. At BookWorks, we accept book donations year-round that we then sell at the bi-annual Book Sales.*

**This position will impact our mission with the following contributions**

Lead the management of BookWorks daily operations, allocating resources and developing systems to ensure maximum efficiency in all aspects.

Maintain and operate equipment (i.e. forklift) to move pallets and other materials. Lift and transport heavy boxes on a regular basis. Troubleshoot on maintenance problems.

Prepare BookWorks operation for two annual sales, including organizing/moving books from rollers and boxes to storage area in an organized system, recycling system, assisting markers and sorters as requested.

Manage aspects of the fall and spring Book Sale set-up and tear down.

Ensure that the physical environment of BookWorks is in excellent, organized condition to guarantee the safety of volunteers, staff, visitors, etc.

Communicate and coordinate with outside vendors for BookWorks.

Respond to and communicate with leadership and year-round volunteers related to Bookworks daily operations and facility needs.

Collaborate with PPNCS staff as needed related to Bookworks and the Book Sale.

Other duties as assigned.

**Typical Work Hours ** 20 work hours a week. M-F daytime hours that may be adjusted with candidates and volunteers needs. Book sale is on weekends, two weekends a year will be necessary. Travel is required from warehouse to state fairgrounds during book sale times.

**Required Qualifications**

Licensed to operate a forklift **Reimbursement for forklift licensure available upon passing completion**

Valid drivers license

Experience supporting events, warehouse operations and/or physical inventory

Able to move 50 pounds of individual boxes of books, with extended periods of time focused on physically moving boxes of books for storage and display

**Preferred Qualifications**

Ability to work with volunteers and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and create a positive environment that demonstrates PPNCS commitment to diversity.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Experience managing volunteers

This position is eligible for paid time off (PTO), Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST), and participation in the 403 (b) retirement plan.
