The Secure Processing Solutions Department is seeking a
  • Technical Director to help grow a new and exciting secure system product line.

    The Technical Director will own the establishment and execution of medium-term to long-term strategic roadmaps, plans, objectives, vision statements that align technology, customer needs and create the opportunities for our future business.

    This person must demonstrate a profound technical proficiency along with exceptional communication and presentation skills, as they play a pivotal role in shaping and influencing the business strategy which requires both depth and breadth in key technologies.

The Technical Director is the key engineering member of this new secure system product line, in conjunction with the General Manager and Business Development, and will be responsible for developing the strategies required to enable business pursuits and capture growth via strategic roadmaps.

This person will provide a cohesive vision that aligns to customer needs as well as shaping/influencing future requirements for the product line per the Department of Defense (DoD), Office of Secretary Defense (OSD), National Security Agency (NSA), Anti-Tamper Executive Agent (ATEA) as well as other customers.

All engineering disciplines and roles within the secure system product line, inclusive of Chief Engineers, will seek council and guidance from the Technical Director.

This will enable the sharing of knowledge, drive quality and create new solutions.

This position is an onsite role in McKinney, TX and requires an active/current security clearance to start.

*Lead the establishment of objectives for execution of mapping and modeling of key engineering business process flows to optimize efficiency and meet program / customer needs.

  • Partner with divisional senior executive leadership, key stakeholders, process owners, and subject matter experts to identify key customer strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and structure improvement opportunities and projects. Advise on and help drive the business operations agenda.
  • Build/maintain relationships with key stakeholders across departments and business units.
  • Provide leadership to facilitate high quality technical decisions, product competitiveness and robust solutions.
  • Forward looking leadership to identify potential external technology disruptors and evaluate strategic applications.
  • Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline and take personal responsibility to develop and advocate for them.
  • The authority for all requirements, design, verification, and validation activities in the Systems Engineering V Model.
  • Experience with creating and maintaining directorate or organizational strategic roadmaps, customer trend analysis and disrupter technology.
  • Requires expert knowledge and mastery of multiple work areas typically obtained through advanced academic qualifications combined with experience.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience.
  • S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance or special access as required. Current Top Secret/SCI clearance is preferred
  • Advanced degree cyber security, anti-tamper, or other (e.g., Experience with cost accounting structure and financial systems
  • Experience in and/or working with all engineering disciplines
  • Experience with Cyber Security and good cyber hygiene practices for secure systems

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
