Job Responsibilities

  • Handling facility infrastructures maintenance at high camps on Mount Rainier involving various skills like plumbing, painting, concrete work, roofing, electricity, and heating systems knowledge.
  • Managing utility infrastructure systems at Mount Rainier's high camps, including water treatment, solar-electric systems, and communication systems.
  • Overseeing human waste management systems at high camps efficiently.
  • Performing diverse maintenance tasks throughout the park with Maintenance Mechanic skills.
  • Utilizing mountaineering, skiing, and aviation skills to access high camps and assist climbers and backcountry users.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is a must.
  • Appointment is subject to background investigation.
  • Compliance with Selective Service Registration Act for males.
  • Participation in Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
  • Mandatory drug test.
  • Operation of motor vehicle as part of duties requiring a valid driver's license.
  • Acquisition and maintenance of specific certifications.
  • Physical requirements.
  • Uniform compliance.
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Completion of probationary period for new government employees.
  • Occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must demonstrate adequate knowledge and ability in various job-related factors. Descriptions of experiences and training must be detailed in the application.

Volunteer Experience : Experience, including volunteer work, provides valuable training that enhances skills necessary for employment.

Education
