We are currently seeking a skilled Safety Engineer who approaches safety from a fundamental standpoint and challenges existing norms and standards. In this role, you will ensure the safe installation, commissioning, and operation of our products within customer projects. Serving as the main contact for compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, you will play a vital role in our engineering and deployment teams, enhancing both product design and deployment processes through your insights.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete safety framework for Electrolysis system field operations and commissioning at customer project sites, taking necessary action to suspend activities that jeopardize workers' safety
  • Collaborate with subcontractor safety supervisors, field safety managers, and customer project management to ensure compliance with all safety regulations and owner requirements
  • Conduct regular assessments of job sites to maintain safe working conditions in line with state and federal regulations
  • Develop site-specific safety plans covering areas such as emergency procedures, site logistics, and training
  • Provide safety training, including New Hire Orientation and other relevant topics, to new employees and site staff
  • Create detailed Job Hazard Analysis and Activity Hazard Analysis for different installation phases
  • Lead daily toolbox meetings and conduct audits of critical safety protocols
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis for incidents, recommend corrective actions, and oversee Pre-Startup Safety reviews
  • Innovate and lead investigations into safety incidents and near misses to enhance operational safety

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related fields
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in EHS roles within chemical process plant construction and operations
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and other state and federal regulations
  • Specialized knowledge of HV and MV power equipment, electrical safety practices, and relevant codes and requirements

Compensation and Benefits | P4

Electric Hydrogen offers a competitive compensation package within the Natick Zone, ranging from $129,200 to $162,988 USD. The final salary will be based on various factors like location, qualifications, skills, and experience. Along with the base salary, employees may enjoy additional benefits:
