*Job Summary: Raytheon's Airborne Multi-Mission Electronics Department, part of Integrated Electrical Solution mission area, is seeking an entry level firmware design engineer to work onsite in Goleta, CA to design and develop embedded firmware technologies for air/ground/sea military applications. The selected candidate will work on new product development and enhancements based on descriptions and specifications provided by our customers.
This position is an onsite role in Goleta, CA.

*Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Working in integrated product teams with support from more senior engineers, you will design, develop, and manufacture complex state-of-the-art systems for airborne, naval, and land-based military applications.
  • Activities include detailed FPGA design, embedded systems, and VHDL/Verilog development.
  • Specific tasks include writing VHDL/Verilog, utilization of Vivado/Quartus/Simulink tools, FPGA programming, design documentation, design verification and testing, and integration of hardware and software at the level of electronic components and circuit boards.
*Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.
  • Course work or other experience with any combination of the following: Embedded electronics VHDL, Verilog, System Verilog, Schematic capture, signal processing, RF, and FPGA design.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
*Preferred Qualifications:

  • ABET is the preferred, although not required accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Ability to understand, design, debug, and test electronics hardware.
  • Hands-on design experience with engineering tools
  • Propensity for learning through self-study and being comfortable in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

The salary range for this role is 59,000 USD - 113,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
