Responsibilities:

As a Community Health Educator, your role will involve coordinating and assisting in planning, developing, and implementing program strategies. You will be responsible for evaluating prevention materials and methods, staying up-to-date with prevention research and strategies, and providing direct information to various audiences. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing group and individual information, education, training, consultation, and referrals
  • Identifying key individuals and groups in the community for program recruitment
  • Researching, developing, and designing educational materials such as curriculum and flyers
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

  • High school graduate equivalent
  • Minimum of six years community education experience
  • CPR Certification (including BLS Child, Infant, Adult)
  • Valid California driver's license and vehicle insurance with reliable transportation
  • For the North County Prevention Coalition assignment, one year of prevention services experience is required

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong customer service skills and commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally

Pay Range: $22.00 per hour
