Elementary School Teacher Position at Tabb Elementary School Job Description:
  • Title: TEACHER - CLASSROOM
  • This Position is: Exempt
Primary Function:

Take charge of planning and delivering instruction for student learning in the classroom and the school.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Holds a professional license with a teaching endorsement at the elementary, middle, or high school level
  • Exhibits professional and personal attributes required for effective interaction with students, parents, and the community
  • Able to move around the room to oversee students and check work in classrooms with various seating arrangements
  • Capable of traveling to different work locations if assigned to an itinerant role
  • Aptitude to prepare necessary written reports
  • Monitors student behavior, including outdoor areas and gymnasiums
  • Demonstrates high moral standards and integrity
Reports to:

School Administrator

Performance Responsibilities:
  • Plans and organizes classroom instruction
  • Fosters a positive classroom atmosphere to enhance student learning
  • Utilizes diverse instructional techniques to accommodate various student requirements
  • Adheres to state laws, school board policies, and administrative guidelines
  • Establishes and upholds standards of student conduct for a disciplined, productive classroom
  • Promotes student citizenship and respectful behavior
  • Assesses and monitors student progress
  • Identifies resources and support for individual student needs
  • Maintains accurate records as per legal and district requirements
  • Informs parents about student progress, curriculum, and school matters
  • Cultivates positive school-community relationships
  • Collaborates with peers, support personnel, and administration
  • Engages in professional development and demonstrates professionalism
  • Identifies necessary resources and materials for classroom instruction
  • Contributes to the overall school program
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by the school administrator
Terms of Employment:

200 workdays annually. Additional days may be contracted for specific roles. Salary as per School Board Pay Plan.

Evaluation:

Performance will be assessed based on School Board policy and regulations for evaluating licensed personnel.
