Position Summary:
Our company is seeking a skilled individual to join us as a Mammography Technologist. In this role, you will assist radiologists in conducting mammography screening, diagnostic, and interventional procedures. You will be responsible for providing patient care, maintaining records, and ensuring the safety and comfort of all individuals involved. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms and procedures following established standards and protocols.
- Ensure proper radiation protection for patients and staff.
- Explain procedures to patients and obtain necessary consent.
- Maintain patient comfort and safety during exams.
- Efficiently input images and documentation into PACS.
- Communicate any schedule changes to the front desk staff.
- Provide excellent customer service and patient care using AIDET principles.
- Conduct equipment quality checks and troubleshoot issues.
- Keep equipment clean and maintain service records.
- Participate in department meetings and comply with policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Training & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a certified radiology technologist program.
- Washington State Radiologic Technologist certification.
- ARRT certification.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS.
- At least 2 years of Mammography clinical experience.
- Current knowledge of radiology.
- CEUs in radiology.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Detailed knowledge of current Mammography scanning protocols and procedures.
Proficient in:
- PACS.
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- Company intranet navigation.
- Data entry on organization-wide software.
- Internet use for job-related tasks.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to communicate findings effectively.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships.
- Handle challenging patient interactions with patience and tact.
- Manage work schedule efficiently.
