This opportunity is for a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer at our Cedar Rapids Mission Systems facility. The role involves supporting manufacturing tests and various manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include assessing and resolving daily manufacturing test issues related to design, processes, and suppliers. This position is based onsite at our Collins Aerospace facility in Cedar Rapids, IA and may offer relocation opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Offer technical interpretations of drawings and specifications for complex RF products
• Suggest effective engineering solutions for design tolerance challenges and collaborate with Program Office and Design Engineering for implementation
• Assess and endorse test plans and test equipment designs. Acquire capital test equipment through cost/benefit analysis
• Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for precise staffing and test equipment requirements. Identify innovative test approaches to minimize staffing and capital needs
• Decrease or eliminate test defects, enhance test yields, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures to address test failures
• Apply standard engineering and manufacturing principles extensively
• Develop solutions for complex technical issues independently
• Establish, execute, and maintain test methodologies and processes for manufacturing and testing intricate RF circuit card and sub-assembly designs
• Offer detailed technical guidance and training to floor test technicians
• Maintain up-to-date test documentation and ensure accurate change management processes for all test documents. Resolve conflicts in documentation and process definitions
• Attain thorough knowledge of test systems and hardware
• Propose or lead projects to enhance producibility and reduce support costs
• Analyze test data using statistical process control analysis to proactively diminish test flow impediments
• Evaluate test approaches, plans, and processes for cost reduction possibilities

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

Typically, a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required. The ability to obtain and retain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is mandatory. U.S. citizenship is necessary as only U.S. citizens are eligible for security clearance. Must have or be able to obtain a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Selected candidates will undergo a government security investigation/reinstatement and must fulfill eligibility criteria.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience as a test technician
• Expertise in electronics troubleshooting

The provided salary range is an approximate estimation representing various experience levels. RTX evaluates multiple factors when extending an offer, considering the role, responsibilities, candidate's experience, location, education, and key competencies.
