As a key member of the Surgical Business Unit, you will play an integral part in helping Enovis drive the medical technology industry forward through transforming patient care and creating better patient outcomes. This role supports our fast-growing Surgical division, located in Austin, TX, with over 70,000 sq. ft of manufacturing and distribution space, which focuses on providing best-in-class, patient-focused solutions for total joint arthroplasty.

Business Unit Description:

Driven by Enovis' desire to create innovative products that help improve quality of life and restore movement to those suffering from degenerative arthritis, Enovis Surgical provides orthopedic surgeons with modern, patient-focused solutions for total joint arthroplasty. Partnerships with key surgeon consultants help provide advanced and proprietary patented solutions, including EMPOWR 3D Knee, the only dual-pivot knee system on the market, and AltiVate Reverse Shoulder, a market-leading system, based on the design principles of the RSP Shoulder, which has demonstrated excellent clinical outcomes at 10 years.

Enovis Surgical offers surgeons and their patients a full range of primary and revision implants for hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow reconstructive joint surgeries, in addition to the tools and digital health technology needed in today's changing healthcare environment.

Job Title/High Level Position Summary: The Manufacturing CNC Maintenance Supervisor is a player/coach role providing leadership and direction to maintenance technicians and is responsible for completing preventive repairs and conducting routine maintenance on various production equipment within the campus. Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations and at higher levels, controls capital expenditures and labor. Develops schedules and labor requirements for assigned areas. Selects develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Receives assignments in the form of goals and objectives and the process by which to meet goals. Directs subordinates on predetermined work assignments which are completed using established guidelines, procedures, and policies. Supervises and tracks employees and may occasionally perform similar work as their subordinates. Frequently advises others on complex matters and provides recommendations on corrective actions and preventive measures. Ensures that government regulations and company standards are achieved and maintained in compliance and within quality standards. Strong written and oral communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential as well as a full understanding of the manufacturing operation and EGX (Enovis Growth Excellence)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance requirements of CNC machinery
  • Installation, service, and repairs of CNC machines and industrial equipment
  • Ability to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot a wide variety of equipment and systems such including but not limited to hydraulics, PLCs, electrical, pneumatic, and other mechanical systems
  • Ability to interpret machine tool manuals, technical documents, and additional resources to troubleshoot and repair equipment issues
  • Complete planned and minor to major preventive maintenance activities
  • Conduct investigation and root cause analysis on machine crashes and unexpected events
  • Ability to work with vendors and suppliers to obtain spare parts and request technical assistance
  • Enter purchase order requisitions and capital expenditure requests as needed
  • Ability to lead and motivate maintenance technicians to meet desired goals
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional team members Manages others to ensure appropriate SOPs, Standard Work and enforces applicable personnel policies and procedures
  • Actively participates in performance management and optimizes labor needs with business and customer requirements
  • Must have excellent conflict resolution skills and be able to handle confrontation diplomatically; must be able to work in a dynamic environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; participates in meetings
  • Follows policies and procedures; completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports organization's goals and values
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work within a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Develop spare parts strategies for consumables and critical business machines and processes
  • Support on boarding and commissioning of new machinery and technologies, including automation
  • Rigorous adherence to SOPs and cGMP regulations with the ability to accurately complete documentation associated with the manufacturing process in a timely fashion is required
  • Draft new and revise existing manufacturing SOPs/work instructions to support process improvements and maintain cGMP compliance.
  • Raise processing and equipment issues in timely manner to manufacturing management and actively participate in troubleshooting
Minimum Basic Qualifications:
  • HS diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of maintenance and training experience on CNC machines
  • Ability to gown to ISO Class 5 and 7 Clean Room standards
  • Ability to drive change; approaches new strategies and assignments with a "can-do" attitude; adapts quickly, works with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to work under general direction and collaboration with the team
  • Strong communication skills with a continuous learner mindset
  • Strong interpersonal skills include persuasion, interpretation, discretion, and being an approachable, patient, and active listener.
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills relating to a diversified, moderately complex issue
