  • Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will be in charge of repairing and maintaining electrical equipment at the Billings Refinery. Equipment includes motors, motor starters and controls (low/medium voltage), switchgear, power cable, protective relays, and lighting circuits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety procedures and policies, especially in electrical safety
  • Perform tasks related to repair and maintenance of electrical equipment
  • Utilize various test equipment for troubleshooting and testing
  • Maintain cleanliness in designated areas according to Refinery standards
  • Work on elevated platforms as needed
  • Adjust equipment to meet operational requirements
  • Operate specialized equipment like bucket trucks, lifts, forklifts, and cranes

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in repairing and maintaining electrical equipment, ideally with an industrial background
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical maintenance preferred, with relevant licenses or trade school education
  • Ability to work on a range of electrical equipment from 120 volts AC to 15KV AC and 12 volts DC to 132 volts DC
  • Experience with electrical test equipment and relay/breaker controls
  • Capability to troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment
  • Understanding of power systems, backup generators, motor-operated valves, and DC battery backup systems
  • Dedication to personal safety, quality work, and teamwork
  • Readiness to work in various conditions and overtime as necessary
  • Proficiency in reading electrical drawings and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards process improvement
  • Strong work ethic and sense of accountability
