Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Must have graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant Program that includes pharmacology and medication administration. Certification/registry must be obtained within six months of hire. Accepted certifications/registries: CMA with the American Associate of Medical Assistants (AAMA), CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA), RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), or RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). Alternative Work Experience eligibility is available for certain certifications.
- Experience: Prior experience in a medical office is preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Current certification or ability to obtain CMA, RMA, or CCMA within 6 months of hire is required.
- Additional skills required: Successful completion of generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
