What You Will be Doing:


The primary purpose of this position is to work with the Paid Leave Oregon Director, Deputy Director, Strategic leadership team, and Learning & Development Team to establish, implement, oversee, and analyze a comprehensive trauma informed framework and program that permeates all aspects of the Paid Leave Oregon program.

This includes writing and reviewing internal and external policies, processes, procedures, documentation, and communications through a trauma informed lens, develop and provide ongoing training to Paid Leave Oregon staff on trauma informed topics, building relationships with local, regional, and national resources to ensure we are current with our trauma informed practices.

What We Are Looking For (Desired Attributes):

  • Experience providing services to diverse communities including those living below the minimum income standard
  • Skilled at working in an ambiguous, fast paced environment, figuring it out and adapting as you go
  • Skilled in communicating effectively in writing and public speaking
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintaining collaborative working relationships with employees and managers at all levels
  • Provide subject matter expertise of the NEAR science of trauma and trauma informed care
  • Knowledge of adolescent/family dynamics, substance abuse, trauma and child abuse issues and the impact on the brain and behavior
  • Ability to analyze and advise on policy, standard operating procedures, messaging, and other organizational aspects from a trauma informed lens
  • Demonstrated awareness of race and social justice, including the ability to positively influence equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace
  • Experience in developing and delivering effective training programs regarding trauma informed care
  • Have completed, or will complete within 12 months of employment, a recognized or certified trauma informed care training program

Required Minimum Qualifications:


A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.

Any combination of experience and education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification
