Job Title: Construction Project Assistant
As a Construction Project Assistant at S&B USA Construction, you will work closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to oversee all aspects of construction projects, including financial management, cost reporting, and on-site activities.
This position is primarily field-based and offers a hands-on experience in construction project management.
Responsibilities/Functions:
- Assist with pre-construction activities such as construction planning, design interpretation, and preparation of quantity takeoffs
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
- Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work and estimates
- Track project documentation and maintain logs
- Participate in safety and quality control activities
- Support in project status reporting and meetings
- Contribute to project close-out tasks
- Mentor less experienced personnel
- Travel as required
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 4-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training
- 2-4 years of field construction experience
- E.I.T. certification preferred
- Ability to read and interpret plans
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge of cost analysis and estimating
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Physically fit to handle construction tasks
Physical Demands:
The role involves carrying tools, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and handling various construction tasks. The employee must be able to work outdoors, lift items up to 50 pounds, and follow safety protocols at all times.
