Job Title: MR Research Technologist at Virginia Tech

At Virginia Tech, we are at the forefront of innovative research in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) for health outcomes and cognitive neuroscience applications. Join us in the Department of Psychology within the College of Science, working closely with researchers conducting brain imaging studies on development, aging, attention, and memory.

You will play a crucial role as an MR Research Technologist specializing in scan operation, ensuring the success of our research projects. Your responsibilities include:

  • Assisting researchers
  • Performing equipment maintenance
  • Operating MRI scanners
  • Monitoring image quality
  • Developing training sequences

Required Qualifications:

  • BA or MA degree in a relevant field
  • Experience with MRI scanners
  • Strong technical skills
  • Computer systems management
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Team player
  • Commitment to safety

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pulse Sequence Programming experience
  • Image reconstruction skills
  • Data transfer expertise

Pay Band: 4

Appointment Type: Restricted

Salary: Commensurate with experience
