Art Counselor

The Art Therapist provides support to enhance the quality of patient care by working directly with the patients in a treatment setting and collaboratively as a member of the program's multi-disciplinary team.

This individual is responsible for collaborating with the CSS clinical team with direct clinical patient care by providing support and guidance to patient to promote engagement and continuity of care.

Working in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, she/he will help provide a safe and therapeutic treatment experience for the patients served.

• Bachelors degree in expressive/ art therapy OR a minimum of one (1) year experience in Art Therapy.
• 1 year experience working in addiction medicine/ substance use disorder field.
• Knowledge of health care, detoxification process, addiction, cooccurring disorders, DSM Criteria, and terminology.
• Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• A former patient may not be hired at the same location where they were treated until a minimum of one year has elapsed since the completion of their treatment at that location. Former patients may be considered for employment at locations within RCA other than where they were treated within a year after treatment
