The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Suffolk University is recruiting a full-time non-tenure track (NTT) instructor for a one-year, renewable position beginning July 1, 2024.

The successful candidate will possess a Ph.
D. or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. sociology, criminology, criminal justice, public policy, public administration)

; preference will be given to candidates with

experience teaching courses in

sociology or

criminal justice

at the college/university level. Ability

to teach

courses

in both our Master of Science in Crime and Justice Studies program and our undergraduate

major programs in

S

ociology and

C

riminal Justice

is required

.


The successful candidate will be able to teach Research Methods (at both the undergraduate and graduate level) as well as various other core and elective courses.

Inclusive teaching practices and a commitment to supporting the success of students from diverse backgrounds are high priorities.

F


aculty responsibilities include teaching 4 courses per semester (a 4-4 annual course load), advising and mentoring students, serving on committees, and actively participating in the life of the department, college and university.
