Job Description

AECOM is in search of a highly skilled and outcome-driven practice/market leader for its national data center practice to spearhead AECOM's advancement in this sector. The ideal candidate will possess the capability to further develop, enhance, and elevate the existing framework to deliver exceptional service and drive increased revenue.

Position Overview:
As the practice/market leader for the national data center team at AECOM, you will play a pivotal role in the growth and success of the organization.

The key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring high-quality, prompt, and profitable delivery of US national data center due diligence and design project portfolio.
  • Shaping and executing a US data center market strategy by leveraging AECOM's global teams and capabilities.
  • Oversight of a significant portfolio of projects or programs with substantial complexity and financial impact.
  • Leading and expanding the data center due diligence, design, and construction administration team.
  • Collaborating closely with AECOM's Global and Regional Market Sector Leaders to pool resources, enhance capabilities, and deliver excellence in every project.
  • Recruiting new talent and upskilling existing team members to drive the delivery of data center projects, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, leadership, and ownership.
  • Expanding relationships with current clients in collaboration with the global technology market sector leader and technology client account managers.
  • Participating in innovation initiatives to differentiate AECOM and address industry changes and opportunities.
  • Overseeing the development of successful proposals and leading client presentations.
  • Refining delivery strategies to enhance predictability, quality, and efficiency.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for all US data center client concerns.
  • Collaborating with the Project and Program Management (PPM) business line to create synergies with AECOM's construction management, commissioning, and quantity surveying practices.
  • Engaging with the Environment business line to provide site selection due diligence services.
  • Establishing relationships with senior leaders at global data center firms in the US, under the guidance of the global technology market sector leader.
  • Acquiring new data center clients and expanding the opportunity pipeline in collaboration with the global technology market sector leader and technology client account managers.
  • Occasional travel required to support project, client, and team needs.
  • Key performance indicators for this role would include project bookings, net service revenue, gross margin, and quality.
  • Contributing innovative ideas internally and externally to drive thought leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering/Architecture field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in delivering large-scale data center designs.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading teams and fostering strong client relationships.
