At UBA WeCARE, our main goal is to provide a wide range of services to assist cash assistance clients in achieving self-sufficiency, focusing on those with medical and/or mental health conditions impacting their employability. We conduct thorough assessments to identify clinical conditions and social barriers that could hinder their ability to engage in work-related activities. Based on assessment outcomes, we determine the individual's functional capacity outcome (FCO) and develop personalized service plans to address their specific needs.
About the Position:
The role of an Assistant Director of Vocational Rehabilitation Services is currently open within the UBA WeCARE program.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in developing policies, procedures, and workflows for the Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) Team in compliance with HRA requirements for the WeCARE Program.
- Ensure proper assignment of cases to VRS case managers alongside the Assistant Director of VRS.
- Regularly review and update reconciliation reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Work closely with the Assistant Director of VRS Team to ensure timely completion of VRS Service Initiation and appropriate referrals for services like childcare.
- Facilitate discussions between VRS case managers and clients on career goals, accommodations, obstacles to employment, and job preparation, all within set timeframes.
- Supervise VRS case management staff effectively.
- Monitor caseloads for all VRS case managers.
- Oversee activities assigned to VRS case managers.
- Evaluate performance of VRS case managers and implement any necessary corrective actions.
- Conduct probationary reports and annual reviews for assigned VRS staff.
- Ensure VRS case managers assess WeCARE clients appropriately during service initiation and follow-up appointments.
- Direct the VRS Social Worker Assistant/Case Manager to engage clients effectively and ensure they attend scheduled appointments.
- Utilize clinical skills to engage clients successfully in the VRS process.
- Collaborate with the AD of VRS to meet set milestones within the designated timeframe.
- Ensure VRS staff adhere to HRA and Montefiore policies and procedures.
- Ability to develop comprehensive policies and procedures.
- Experience in managing staff to address medical/health/behavioral health diagnoses and employment barriers effectively.
