Classroom Teacher Range 2

Range 2 classroom teachers play a crucial role in helping the school enhance student performance based on the school's strategic plan and state-wide priorities, contributing to school policies, and aiding in staff development regarding student learning and high-quality instruction.

Expectations for Range 2 teachers include:

  • Having the necessary content knowledge and pedagogical skills to meet all students' needs
  • Modeling exemplary classroom practices and mentoring other teachers
  • Offering expert advice on teaching content and strategies
  • Supervising and training student teachers
  • Assisting staff in using student data to inform teaching approaches for improved student learning outcomes

Classroom Teacher Range 1

Range 1 classroom teachers focus on further developing skills to become effective practitioners with support and guidance, teaching various student groups, and being accountable for program delivery. They operate under general direction, following established practices, and may supervise student teachers.

At Range 1, teachers participate in policy development, program implementation, and induction programs for new teachers.

Responsibilities

  • Direct teaching of student groups and individuals
  • Contributing to curriculum development and evaluation
  • Undertaking teaching-related duties assigned by the School Principal
  • Participating in school activities and non-teaching supervisory tasks
