About the Role:

Banking Relationship Specialists play a crucial role in ensuring an exceptional ConnectOne Client-First banking experience by acquiring, retaining, and expanding banking relationships with both business and consumer clients while embodying the ConnectOne Culture.


Responsibilities:
  • Support the Bank's People First focus and engagement guidelines — greet clients by name, maintain professionalism, ensure the branch adheres to ConnectOne Bank standards, work as an active team member, with the goal of making ConnectOne Bank a superior workplace.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for relationship building and growth by cross-selling the Bank's products and services in a consultative manner.
  • Handle account openings for deposit products, and educate clients on the Bank's offerings.
  • Ensure all activities, transactions, and records comply with the Bank's operational, security, and control procedures to prevent fraud and safeguard customer assets.
  • Address customer service issues by investigating, taking ownership, and providing necessary follow-up until resolution.
  • Assist other branch team members with transactions and day-to-day operations as needed, offering feedback and coaching to enhance overall team performance.
  • Conduct service transactions such as check re-orders, address/name changes, safe deposit box access, outbound wires, account maintenance, and client communication.
  • Act as the primary back-up to the Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager for operational and service-related functions.
  • Provide support for Teller functions as required, performing banking transactions over the phone or at the drive-up window, including deposits, check cashing, and addressing other banking needs, as well as assisting with branch opening and closing.
  • Participate actively in achieving branch sales targets.
  • Maintain a service performance level of 90% or higher and reinforce feedback received from mystery shops.
  • Support retail and community events to enhance the brand in line with the retail business plan.
  • Complete any additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated needs-based sales skills.
  • One to three years of experience in bank platform sales and teller roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal banking regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Genuine interest and proficiency in People First principles.
  • Ability to assess and meet customer needs or resolve customer issues effectively.
  • Strong skills in team-building and interpersonal communication.
  • Capability to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Thorough understanding and embodiment of ConnectOne Bank's culture.
  • Flexibility to work a variable schedule as needed to support business operations.
