Global Refuge Baltimore Welcome Center, a part of Global Refuge, previously known as Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS), is on the lookout for a Case Manager and Employment Specialist to join their team. In this role, you would be providing essential services to newly arriving refugees and other Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) eligible populations.

The primary goal of this position is to support newcomers' self-sufficiency and integration, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance to kickstart their lives in the United States.

DUTIES

  • Offering culturally and linguistically appropriate client-centered support
  • Assisting in reception services for arriving refugees
  • Creating service plans, removing barriers, and promoting self-sufficiency
  • Providing a range of support services including housing, healthcare, and employment assistance
  • Maintaining regular contact with clients and ensuring gender-equitable services
  • Conducting outreach to employers and the community
  • Ensuring all services are well-documented and delivered according to program guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or two years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience with refugee or immigrant populations highly valued
  • Proficiency in MS Office and database programs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
