Our Medical Interpreter and Translation staff are valued as important members of the health care team, offering expertise in over 150 languages. We act as a communications bridge between patients, families, and medical staff, and we inform doctors of relevant cultural issues to help them deliver culturally sensitive patient care.

Job Summary:

The dispatcher links the patients and clinics to the interpreters they need. They prioritize calls, based on an awareness of patient flow and patient care issues, and problem solve to minimize delay in service access. If dispatching volume allows, they may be assigned scheduling responsibilities. They may do occasional phone and face-to-face interpreting, depending on need.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent customer-relations skills
  • Excellent phone skills, pleasant phone manner
  • Desire to work independently and proactively to support the team
  • Able to learn to communicate quickly and accurately via alphanumeric paging machine
  • Able to tolerate constant phone calls
