John Tillman Company, a division of Bunzl,is seeking an AP/AR Clerk for our office in Compton. The AP/ARClerk is responsible for supporting the Accounting Department ingeneral payables, receivables, customer billing and paymentapplication, and special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and ensure accurate and timely paymentprocessing from customers.
  • Accounts receivablecash application – ACH, lockbox, wires, and credit card
  • Full cycle AP including entry and payment of purchasingand expense invoices plus review of RNI
  • Gathering back-up for P-Card reconciliations andretrieving portal invoices.
  • Review vendorstatements to confirm the accuracy of AP aging
  • Reach out to vendors for missing invoices andverification of ACH payment information
  • Updatecontainer landed costs and finalize containers for warehousereceipt
  • Cross-train to back up AR and APteams
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree a plus
  • Strong dataentry skills required.
  • ERP knowledgepreferred, currently on Sage X3
  • MicrosoftExcel experience is a plus.
  • A minimum of twoyears of accounting experience a plus
  • Knowledge of AR & AP processespreferred. 
  • Must have an excellent eyefor detail; must have the ability to spot issues quickly and beable to resolve in a timely manner.
  • Excellentcommunication and time management skills
  • Mustbe self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Must also be able to follow directions and work as partof a TEAM
  • Ability to multi-task projects,establish priorities, and organize effectively.
  • Must be detail-orientated and be able to work underpressure
  • Analytical skills to support solvingcomplex transaction processing issues.

Tillman California salary range: $23.00-$25.00per hour based on experience, education, and geographiclocation.
