Requirements:

  • California Physical Therapist license
  • Some experience (0.5 to 1 year) with pediatrics, or with school-based Physical Therapy, desired

The applicant will be working with K-12 students with differing levels of needs.

Description of duties:

  • Review students medical history and referrals or notes from doctors or educators
  • Diagnose students motor functions by observing them stand,walk, or navigate the school environmentand by listening to their concerns
  • Develop individualized plans of care for students, outlining goals appropriate to students' conditions and developmental levels
  • Use exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to support student access to their environments, andfacilitate health and wellness
  • Evaluate and record students progress, modifying the plan of care and trying new therapy activities, or equipment modifications,as needed
  • Educate students and their families about what to expect from the therapy process and how to cope with challenges
