Senior Accounting Manager

*This position is full-time onsite*

Job Summary:

  • Prepare timely financial reports for construction projects, including monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheets and income statements.
  • Consolidate financial statements for external reporting to banks and investors.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and provide explanations for financial variances.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP standards, and regulatory requirements for financial and tax reporting.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of a robust job cost accounting system.
  • Coordinate with tax accountants by providing necessary financial documents for tax return preparation.
  • Manage audit and review processes in collaboration with external CPA firms.
  • Oversee back-office operations, including payroll, commissions, accounts payable, construction coordination, and sales and escrow coordination.
  • Provide oversight of IT functions, including system security protocols and data retention/storage.
  • Support CFO in Human Resources administration tasks.
  • Assist in onboarding new hires by managing IT setup and employee benefit registrations.
  • Maintain project-level pricing in the ERP system, including base prices, lot premiums, and incentive promotions.

Desired Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience in production homebuilding.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • CPA or MBA qualifications are advantageous but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and management abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated with a strong ability to work independently.
