Summary: The Controller oversees financial and accounting processes, ensuring accurate reporting, analysis, and internal controls. This role provides business guidance and manages financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct accounting functions, including ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial performance, identify areas of improvement, and offer recommendations.
- Maintain and analyze financial metrics and support annual planning.
- Oversee inventory management and implement best practices.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
Required Experience:
- 10+ years in accounting/finance, with roles in financial planning and plant controlling.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience in ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Additional Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Work Environment:
- Full-time, hybrid position with office and remote work.
- Must be based in the greater Houston area and willing to travel up to 10%.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
