Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pediatric Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Specialist to join our Orthopaedic Surgery Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background, a demonstrated commitment to academic medicine, and expertise in pediatric and adolescent sports medicine, with a focus on surgical intervention for sports-related injuries. The vision of Cleveland Clinic Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Program is to become the global leader in athletic care, and the ideal candidate will be an integral part of making this vision a reality.

The Sports Medicine Program consists of 11 Orthopaedic Surgeons, 15 Sports & Exercise Medicine physicians and 9 advanced practice providers. The program is on pace to complete 57,000 E&Ms and 3,300 surgeries. The Sports Medicine Program also provides coverage for 63 high schools, 4 colleges and 2 professional teams.

In fall of 2024 the Cleveland Clinic broke ground on the 64,000 square foot Global Peak Performance Center, a collaborative venture with The Cleveland Cavaliers that will be the premier center in the world for sports performance. This multidisciplinary center will leverage the very best in data analytics, biometric analysis and our expert Cleveland Clinic specialists across all disciplines to help each and every athlete reach their true potential. This state of the art center is expected to open in fall 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive and exceptional orthopaedic care to pediatric and adolescent patients with sports-related injuries, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
  • On-site coverage of athletic events at the high school, collegiate, professional and/or club level.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals, to optimize patient outcomes and rehabilitation.
  • Participate in research initiatives and clinical trials aimed at advancing the field of pediatric orthopaedic sports medicine.
  • Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows through lectures, workshops, and hands-on teaching experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Subspecialty Certification or eligibility for Orthopaedic

Subspecialty Certification

  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Sports Medicine or completion of dual fellowships in
  • Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
  • Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine.
  • Active medical license in the state of Ohio or eligibility for licensure.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in surgical techniques relevant to pediatric and adolescent sports medicine.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with patients, colleagues, and staff.
