Remote Special Education Teacher-Kentucky

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities in collaboration with the student's IEP team, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Deliver virtual instruction across core academic subjects, adaptive skills, and social skills, employing evidence-based teaching methodologies and assistive technology tools.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to gauge student progress, adapting instructional strategies and interventions to facilitate meaningful goal attainment.
- Maintain regular communication with students and families, furnishing progress updates, resource dissemination, and addressing concerns pertinent to virtual learning and special education services.
- Provide direct instruction, modeling, and support to students in honing self-advocacy skills, executive functioning proficiencies, and independent learning strategies.
- Engage in virtual IEP meetings, team gatherings, and professional development endeavors to bolster continuous improvement and ensure adherence to special education mandates.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid teaching certification in special education or eligibility for certification within the state of Kentucky.
- Previous experience teaching students with disabilities, preferably in virtual or remote learning settings.
- Familiarity with virtual learning platforms, instructional technology tools, and assistive technology devices commonly utilized to support students with disabilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills coupled with adept communication abilities to effectively engage students, families, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Dedication to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive pedagogical practices in catering to students with diverse backgrounds and identities.
- Completion of clearances and background checks mandated by school districts or prospective employers.
