Soliant Education is seeking a passionate Middle School Health Teacher for an hourly contract position in Chicago, IL. As a Middle School Health Teacher, you'll have the opportunity to empower students with knowledge and skills to make healthy choices and lead active lifestyles.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging health curriculum covering topics such as nutrition, fitness, mental health, and personal hygiene.
  • Facilitate discussions and activities that promote critical thinking and decision-making skills related to health and wellness.
  • Provide accurate and age-appropriate information about physical, emotional, and social health.
  • Collaborate with school counselors and other support staff to address students' social and emotional needs.
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable discussing sensitive topics.
  • Utilize multimedia resources, guest speakers, and field trips to enhance learning experiences.
  • Assess student understanding through quizzes, projects, and class discussions.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Public Health, or related field.
  • Valid Illinois teaching certification with an endorsement in Health Education.
  • Previous experience teaching health education preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of health topics and their relevance to middle school students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in the well-being of students.
