We're currently hiring in Chicago, Illinois to support a district in need of a Special Education Teacher for the current school year. Schools Special Education Teacher Contract Details:

  • $47 – $51 an hour
  • 2024-2025 School Year
  • $3000 assignment bonus for new Supplemental Health Care employees
  • Hours per week: Full-time. Monday-Friday school schedule
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: June 2025
  • Location: In-person
    Assignment Options:
    -5th-8th grade in a Middle School
    -K-4th grade in an Elementary School
    -K-4th grade in an Elementary School
  • Average caseload of 20 students, focusing on push in and pull out supports, primarily in the areas of reading (fluency and comprehension), foundational math skills. Most common disability SLD and DD.
  • Multicategorical/Crosscategorical, intellectual, learning, and/or emotional disability special education certifications may be accepted
    Possible program/caseload info:
  • Special education teachers needed in early childhood, elementary, middle, high, and alternative schools throughout the district
  • Could be a combination of co-teach and pull-out services
  • Could be low incidence/autism self-contained classroom
  • Could be a behavior support specialist

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university related area
  • Teaching Certification with Schools Special Education Endorsement
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement
  • Special Education Teaching Endorsement must meet position requirements
  • Multicategorical/Crosscategorical, intellectual, learning, and/or emotional disability special education certifications may be accepted
