Job Title: School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Chesterfield, MI and surrounding areas. As a School SLP, you will work with students in educational settings to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized therapy plans that support the students' academic success and overall communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and swallowing abilities
  • Diagnose and develop treatment plans for students with communication disorders, such as articulation, fluency, voice, and language disorders
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to address communication goals and improve speech and language skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other team members to integrate therapy goals into the students' academic curriculum
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
  • Educate and empower students, teachers, and parents on strategies for improving communication skills and facilitating language development
  • Stay up to date with current research, techniques, and best practices in speech-language pathology

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Michigan
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
  • Experience or strong interest in working with pediatric populations
  • Knowledge of educational systems and the role of speech-language pathology in a school setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
