Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

Position Overview
The Chemical Physics Program, the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and the Department of Physics announce the opening for the newly established endowed Andrei Baronov and Ratmir Timashev Professorship in Chemical Physics. This tenure track appointment will be at the associate or full professor level. We seek individuals with a research program of recognized excellence that embraces the interdisciplinary nature of chemical physics research. A joint appointment between the Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Physics, possibly including an Engineering department, is anticipated.
Education and Experience Requirements
Candidates with an outstanding interdisciplinary research record are invited to apply. We are seeking candidates who, in addition to pursuing excellence in research, will also have a strong commitment to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and leadership ability. Our departments are committed to building a diverse intellectual community. Candidates must hold a PhD in chemistry, physics, or a closely related field. Appointment is contingent on the university’s verification of credentials and other information required by law and/or university policies, including but not limited to a criminal background check.

Department Information
The Chemical Physics (CP) program is an interdisciplinary graduate program in which students take core graduate courses in both Chemistry and Physics plus electives tailored to their interest. CP faculty (24 total) are associated with chemistry, physics and engineering departments from which students can choose their research advisor.

The Department of Physics at the Ohio State University is one of the university's largest and most diverse departments. As a department in the division of Natural and Mathematical Sciences in the College of the Arts and Sciences, the Department of Physics occupies the Physics Research Building as well as instructional and advising space in Smith Laboratory, the former home of the department. The department currently has approximately 50 faculty, 60 postdoctoral researchers and research scientists, 210 graduate students, and 430 undergraduate majors.
