The AP Specialist has the opportunity to take over the head accountant in 5 years. Key Responsibilities for the AP Specialist: The AP Specialist will process and verify a high volume of invoices (150+ weekly) with accuracy and attention to detail. Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices while resolving discrepancies promptly. Enter and code invoices manually into the accounting system to ensure proper GL allocation. The AP Specialist will manage vendor communications, including inquiries, payment status updates, and statement reconciliations. Prepare weekly payment runs and assist with check processing, ACH, and wire payments. Maintain organized invoice records and support month-end close activities related to AP. Collaborate with purchasing and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate payment processing. Qualifications for this AP Specialist opening: 3+ years of full-cycle AP experience 2+ years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume, manual processing environment. Strong understanding of invoice coding, purchase order matching, and general ledger principles. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software; ability to learn new systems quickly.
