Compensation: $58,926.40 /yr

Overview / Job Summary:
This position is a Full-time Exempt level position, as defined by policy to mean a minimum of 40 hours per week. The primary responsibility of an Instructor is to provide the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The instructor is responsible for performing the duties in the assigned instructional modality (hybrid, online or face to face) during the day, evening, or weekend on any WSU Tech) campus/off-campus/on-line location. At a minimum, the related activities include instruction, instructional counseling, academic planning, serving on various committees, recruiting, participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities and organizations as needed. An instructor performs all duties as directed by the Program Director, Associate Dean, Dean, Academic Vice President, or the President.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
 
  • Creates and/or uploads an appropriate course syllabus for each course to the Learning Management System.Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content, requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements.Maintains industry credentials as appropriate to the teaching area. Develops, revises, and/or recommends curriculum changes which meet the objectives of the course/program and improve student learning.Fully participates in, utilizes and submits when due program review information, assessment data, and course/college evaluations.Ensures that each program/class meets the WSUTech Course Standard, includes all appropriate curricular components, utilizes effective teaching methods/practices (pedagogy) and reflects current field practices.
As the UAS Flight Instructor, we expect the applicant to stay current with industry updates in UAS technology, regulations, and best practices to incorporate cutting-edge knowledge into training sessions. Additionally, maintain comprehensive records of student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement, providing regular updates to both students and management.

Education:
  • Associates degree or higher in Geographic Information Systems, Surveying, or related field. Experience maybe considered in lieu of education
Preferred Qualifications:
  • FAA part 107 certification
required. If Applicant does not have a current it part 107 certificate it must be acquired as a prevision of employment.Preferred 2 years of experience in using drones to do photography, video, surveying, precision agriculture, or inspection.Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred.Additional Qualifications:Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to work with students, technical and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.Ability to use personal computer and software applications, strong Microsoft Office skills.
