Job Title: Special Education Teacher (MIPA and Life Skills Classes)

Location: Washington, DC area

Employer: Soliant Education

Dates: July 8, 2024 - August 2, 2024

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:15 AM - 1:15 PM

Prep Dates: June 28, July 1-2 (three dates of preparation required)

Specific Needs: We are specifically seeking teachers for our MIPA and Life Skills classes. Candidates must have extensive training and knowledge in working with students with complex needs, nonverbal students, and significant behavioral needs. It is crucial that our teachers are fully prepared and equipped to support these students effectively. Without the appropriate training, both teacher and student safety and support may be compromised.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with complex needs
  • Provide instruction and support tailored to the needs of nonverbal students
  • Implement strategies to address significant behavioral needs in the classroom
  • Collaborate with support staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure the safety and success of students

Requirements:

  • Specialized training and experience in working with students with complex needs, nonverbal students, and significant behavioral needs
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Previous experience in MIPA and Life Skills classes preferred
