Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher (SPED) to join our school-based team in Dover, DE. The SPED teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring they receive the appropriate support and services to succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in various subjects, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting IEPs as necessary to meet evolving needs.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the development and review of student-specific goals and objectives.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and materials to support students' learning and growth.
  • Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Special Education teaching certification in Delaware.
  • Experience working with students with special needs in a school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
