Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness Auditor, Lead

Key Role:

Support the client's organization with their Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) activities to achieve client objectives as part of a team. Establish auditable support for financial transaction activity across Program Management Organizations (PMO) and directorates. Provide leadership and technical guidance for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) legislation, meet Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and to improve Government operations and processes to meet audit readiness. Provide guidance to other departments on the identification and documentation of required actions and policies, conformance tests, and ongoing monitoring issues. Assess risks and develops control processes ensuring federal audit readiness. Comprehend financial management, accounting, and audit principles to support efforts in a wide variety of review and analyses of business processes, systems, internal controls, and transactions impacting financial statements. Work in a collaborative team environment and interact independently or as part of a team with PMO leadership and internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis to accomplish project objectives. Leverage project management expertise in client engagements and project work streams, including developing plans and approaches and overseeing project delivery. Configure the PMO’s Accountability and Custody for Government Property and Contract Property to support one or more general ledger systems and determine how to report activity across DoD lines of accounting. Support reporting Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS) 48 Consumable materials, and 50 Equipment, Structures, and Software Beginning Balances.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) activities to achieve client objectives as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Federal Accounting Standards and FIAR guidance
  • Knowledge of internal audit, risk management, and examination techniques
  • Knowledge of the use and application of internal controls, including control environment, risk assessment, control activities, or monitoring
  • Ability to work independent across large programs
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience with Financial Auditing or 16 years of experience with Financial Auditing in lieu of a degree
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPAs), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Management Accountants (CMA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Navy Enterprise Resource Planning and Air Force Program &Budget Enterprise System software, including SAP and Oracle solutions
  • Knowledge of DoD property management policies governing Equipment, Consumable Supplies and Software
  • Knowledge of data analytics and visualization methods
  • Ability to verbally present and discuss work products, issues, and ideas
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and deadlines across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Possession of excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Certification - Society of Defense Financial Management – SDFM (previously Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM)), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
