Title:
Systems Engineer & Process SMEKBR is seeking a highly qualified Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineer Technical Advisor (SETA) support for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED). GED delivers mission-critical capabilities that enable the NRO to plan and execute intelligence-gathering missions from NRO overhead systems and process the resulting collected data into useful information distributed to IC and DoD users.
As a Systems Engineer and Process SME, you will have the opportunity to support the GED mission, GED Front Office and GED Chief Architect office. You will provide segment, enterprise, and intelligence community level knowledge to assist with technical and strategic integration across the GED offices and to assist with outreach and awareness. You will be working within multi-disciplinary hardware, software, system integration, and data analysis/collections teams that are creating systems that support our customer's missions/requirements.
Responsibilities:
Provide process improvement recommendations to System Engineering Processes.
Update, coordinate, and communicate the GED strategic plan as needed.
Participate in government and contractor sponsored System Engineering and technical exchange meetings (TEMs), Independent Review Teams, and design and program management reviews.
Participate in GED and NRO architecture planning activities with the GED Chief Architect, GED SPOs, and the Systems Engineering Directorate, and other Directorates and Offices as applicable.
Provide awareness of technical and strategic decisions and directions by other Directorates and Offices that may impact GED programs, plans, and strategies.
Ensure GED responses are coordinated and prepare GED Government representative for Enterprise and Community level forums, boards, and working groups in support of Architecture Management, Configuration Management, Risk Management, Readiness Management, Schedule Management, Transition Management, and Verification, Validation and Testing.
Coordinate with the GED Front Office, GED Chief Architect office, and GED SPOs to develop content for technical and strategic executive-level presentations and documents (e.g. conference presentations, GED fact sheets).
In coordination with the GED Director’s Action Group (DAG) and GED SPOs, review and develop responses to technical and strategic actions.
Support GED outreach activities, to include developing and coordinating presentation material, scheduling conference rooms, note taking, and task tracking as needed.
Advise on acquisition strategies and source selections as directed.
Required Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph Required
Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts (BS/BA) in Engineering, Math, Physics, with 10+ years of experience
Demonstrated experience working with Intelligence Community and/or DOD programs
Demonstrated experience in NRO programs
Demonstrated experience in GED Directorate programs and activities
Demonstrated experience interacting with senior executives to include writing correspondence or white papers, developing executive briefings, and participating in executive level meetings
Highly Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of the NRO System Engineering process
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
Experience with SIGINT and GEOINT systems
Experience or knowledge of GED systems
Experience in a systems engineering function to include configuration management and risk management
Experience using Confluence and JIRA Atlassian commercial tools
Experience using G-Forge, J-SMART, TIER
