Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students who have accepted a Federal Work Study (FWS) Financial Aid Offer are eligible to be hired in this position. Unsolicited applications to this posting will NOT be considered.

The gallery attendant will work at the Memorial Union Gallery, interacting with and assisting visitors with information about the exhibitions.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Interact with and assist visitors with information about exhibition.
  • Keep artwork safe from damage and theft by being present in the gallery.
  • Prepare gallery for visitors and help keep gallery clean and organized.
  • Assist Curator with exhibition tasks as needed.
  • Work with online database (Scholarly Commons).
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Self-motivated and dependable
  • High level of professionalism
Minimum Requirements
  • Must be available to work at least 4 hours during normal operating times. (M-Th, 9am-4pm)
  • Must have an interest in learning about art and gallery management.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits during the semester of employment
  • Accepted Federal Work Study award
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
