About the Position:
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. This is an onsite position, providing direct instruction and support to DHH students within a general education classroom setting.
Start Date: Approximately August 2024 End Date: Approximately May 2025
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with general education teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for DHH students.
- Provide direct instruction in communication skills, including American Sign Language (ASL) or other appropriate modes of communication.
- Support DHH students with academic learning, social interaction, and emotional well-being.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices in DHH education.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
- State certification in Deaf Education or a willingness to obtain it.
- Strong knowledge of ASL or other appropriate modes of communication.
- Experience working with DHH students in a general education setting (preferred).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for helping DHH students succeed.
