A candidate for this rank must have a distinguished record of achievement beyond the assistant professor level.Job Description: The University of Florida seeks applications for a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Research and Evaluation Methodology (REM) in the College of Education. The College is a community of collaborative and energetic faculty, who value scholarship, excellence in teaching, and a high level of professional service. This is a 12-month position with teaching and service as the primary responsibilities. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to teach applied research methodology courses in qualitative research methods to both REM majors and non-majors, show a commitment to graduate education, and serve on program, school, college, and university committees. This 12-month appointment will begin in August 2026. The REM program is housed within the School of Human Development and Organizational Studies (HDOSE) in the College of Education. The REM program (https://education.ufl.edu/researchevaluation-methods/) has seven full-time faculty and robust Ph.D. and Master's programs that offer comprehension methodological training in statistics, psychometrics, evaluation, and qualitative methods. The comprehensive program integrates rigorous academic coursework with research experience, and interdisciplinary collaboration with other fields of education and social sciences. The REM program also offers applied evaluation and methodology courses to graduate and undergraduate students within the College of Education and across the university campus. Responsibilities: Teach applied graduate-level courses in qualitative research methodology, both in person and online, to Ed.D. and Ph.D. students from a variety of disciplines. Provide service to the program, school, college, university, and the profession. Collaborate with colleagues in course development. Teach (online, blended, and/or face-to-face) applied qualitative research methodology courses (particularly classes in foundations of qualitative methods - EDF 6475 and EDF 7483) to students who have different backgrounds in research methods. Mentor and engage with graduate students, including serving on doctoral committees. Required Qualifications: Doctorate in qualitative research methods, or a closely related field. Ability to teach applied research methodology courses in qualitative methods, both in person and online, to students who vary widely in prior training in qualitative research. Ability to develop applied research and evaluation methodology courses as needed. Working knowledge of multiple qualitative research traditions Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience in qualitative research methods at undergraduate or graduate levels, either in person or online. Actively engage and offer service in professional communities. Experience in development of qualitative methods program and development of new courses.
