Job Summary

Manage assigned institutional compliance functions to ensure university compliance with a variety of state and federal regulations, grant requirements, ethics guidelines, etc.

Responsibilities

Typical Allocation of Duties

Provide guidance - 20%
Conduct investigations, audits, and/or research to ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and/or accreditation-related guidelines.

Advocate - 20%
Advocate for the achievement and documentation of institutional best practices in compliance-related subject matter areas.

Develop policies and procedures - 20%
Assist in the development of institutional policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines.

Collaborate with others - 20%
Collaborate with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to help ensure institutional compliance.

Prepare reports - 20%
Prepare a variety of regular and special reports documenting university compliance.

Supervisor Expectations

  • Recruit, train, oversee/supervise members of the Student Judicial Council and graduate assistant.

  • Develop and provide training for various campus stakeholders.

  • Develop, implement, and coordinate effective student programming.

  • Participate in student engagement activities.

  • Seek out and engage in training opportunities to further develop skills and knowledge in the field, and to stay up to date on current and best practices in student conduct.

  • Assist with the intake and assigning of non-Title IX (TIX) conduct cases.

  • Complete ePro, PSP, and Cascade training.

  • Assist in the daily operation of student conduct.

  • Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, staff, and parents.

  • Maintain conduct records and the Maxient database.

  • Serve as a member of the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) and other university committees as required by the position.

  • Serve as an investigator for non-Title IX conduct cases.

  • Serve as primary hearing officer.

  • Assist with policy updates and creation.

  • Actively seek assistance and feedback from supervisor and colleagues, as appropriate.

  • Excellent judgment with the ability to manage sensitive information and problem solve.

  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills.

  • Working knowledge of non-discrimination laws, TIX, due process protections as they apply to student conduct proceedings, the Clery Act, VAWA, and FERPA.

  • Ability to build and foster collaborative relationships.

  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

  • Ability to maintain neutrality and work under stress.

  • Ability to gather, interpret, report, and/or edit information accurately in a meticulous environment.

  • Ability to listen well and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for individual's needs.

  • Ability to write, proofread, and edit information in various formats.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required Qualifications

Required Experience
Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related work experience.

$53,310
