Vaco is looking for a an Oracle EBS DBA to join the team of a local client starting a lift and shift from AIX to Exadata. This role will specifically function as an Application DBA administering, maintaining, and optimizing the Oracle EBS Applications. A DBA in this role with ensure high availability, performance tuning, and managing integrations.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity and on-site 3-days a week in Addison, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Install, configure and upgrade Oracle EBS applications
  • Set up and maintain multiple EBS instances across various environments (development / testing / production)
  • Administer Oracle databases supporting EBS applications on Exadata platform
    • Perform advanced maintenance backups / patching / upgrades
    • Optimize application database performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues associated with application performance / security / functionality
  • Implement and manage high availability solutions including Oracle RAC and Active Data Guard
  • Implement and manage advanced security measures including auditing and encryption
    • Develop and test disaster recovery plans
    • Monitor and address security vulnerabilities and compliance requirements
  • Manage user access and permissions
  • Manage integrations between Oracle EBS and other business applications
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all database, Exadata, and application configurations, integrations, changes, etc.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA with extensive Oracle EBS knowledge and skills (administration / maintenance / optimization)
  • Extensive experience with Oracle EBS R12.1 and/or R12.2 and the accompanying modules (finance / supply chain / HRMS)
  • Experience with Exadata machine x-series
  • Ability to write queries/scripts with SQL, PL/SQL, Unix / Linux
    • Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting of SQL queries and PL/SQL code
  • Solid understanding of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and services is a plus
