Job Description:
Join the team in Apple Valley, Minnesota, as a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive speech and language services to students within our dynamic and inclusive public school district.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' speech and language abilities, identifying areas of strength and areas needing intervention.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to address the specific communication needs of each student, incorporating evidence-based practices and innovative approaches.
- Implement direct speech and language therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings, fostering skill development and functional communication.
- Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic progress and social-emotional well-being, ensuring a holistic approach to intervention.
- Monitor students' progress through ongoing assessment and data collection, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of assessment results, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing records in compliance with state and district guidelines.
- Actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing valuable input to develop effective educational plans for students.
- Stay informed about current research, best practices, and emerging trends in the field of speech-language pathology, continuously enhancing professional knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university.
- Active licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Minnesota.
- Certification from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) as a Speech-Language Pathologist or eligibility for certification.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility to obtain.
- Strong understanding of educational policies, procedures, and regulations related to special education services.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience working in educational settings and serving diverse student populations.
